“Unholy,” with its harrowing and sultry chorus, became the perfect song choice for thirst trap and break up videos on TikTok.

The song originally became viral after German singer-songwriter Kim Petras and British singer Sam Smith did a dance video to the song, creating a new wave of dance challenge videos on TikTok. Through TikTok, the song went viral even before its official release, launching at no. 1 in Global Billboard charts within its first full week of tracking.

The collaboration song now entered its second week of being No. 1 on both Billboard Global Excl. US and Billboard Global 200. 

The two charts, both launched in Sept. 2020, rank songs based on streaming and sales activity culled from more than 200 territories around the world, as compiled by Luminate. Billboard Global 200 is inclusive of worldwide data and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart comprises data from territories excluding the U.S.

“Unholy” currently has a total of  83.3 million streams and 16,000 downloads worldwide in the September 30th - October 6th tracking. Ranking top 3 in the Global 200, it is followed by David Guetta and Bebe Rexha’s “I’m Good (Blue).” 

Harry Styles’ “As It Was,” sits at No. 3 following its record 15-week reign.
